Snacky Snack Snack

I like to eat. A lot!
I almost always cook a big meal at night for supper.
But during the day I never really have a big lunch...
I do a lot. of . snacking...
Wanna see?

Now that you've seen some of my snacking habits, do you have any suggestions for me?
I'd love to try something new!
What are your favorite snacks?

Happy Monday,
Chrissie

TGIF

I made two more pillow forms this week.  First, another "rainbow" one, this time wonky style.

...and a wonky style house.  Both are for 18" x 18" pillow forms.  (FYI-  If you use the 40% off coupons at Micheals or Joann's, you can pick up a pillow form for a couple of dollars.)

I also wanted to share with you some blogs that I think have a lot good information and/or inspiration.  I think the artistic and chaotic part of my brain craves and thrives on order and simplicity to give my life balance.  These sites help me keep my getoutofdebt Goal in focus.  They are filled with practical advice that is presented in a lovely, simple way.

Any big plans for the weekend?  Would you believe that it was almost 80 degrees here today?  We have been outside every day this week, drinking in the sunshine...Blessed days, I tell ya!
Enjoy yourselves, wherever you are! :)

I'm excited to show you this...

I'm pretty excited about this.  I made it over the weekend...Here it is in Ashton's room...

I used this photo as my guide:

The whole thing is done in free-motion embroidery.

It's made to fit an 11 x 14 frame, and I chose not to put the glass in it since he wanted it on his bookshelf.  If we ever hang it on the wall, I will put the glass back in.

I'm going to offer custom ones in my etsy shop!  If you send me a photo, I can make one for you of your child(ren).  There are so many wonderful scriptures to choose from:

I prayed for this child,
and the Lord has granted me
what I asked of him.
1 Samuel 1:27

The child grew
and became strong in spirit.
Luke 1:8

For I know the plans I have for you,
plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope
and a future.
Jeremiah 29:11

He was filled with wisdom,
and the grace of God
was upon him.
Luke 2:40

Behold, children are a gift of the Lord,
the fruit of the womb is a reward.
Psalm 127:3

...or any other that has special meaning to you.

Okay, I'm off to eat some of the girl scout cookies hidden in my closet.
Do you have to hide your treats?  ;)

Loveliness

I had so much fun today creating my weekly scripture piece.
For the first time in a long time, it was all about paint. I used watercolors, acrylics, and some yummy Martha Stewart glitter.

The weather in Central Florida this weekend has been Amazing!  I worked outside on my portable art table and basked in the sunshine.
Glitter always looks delicious in the sunshine...:)

The print is available here if you're interested :)   All prints will be embellished with real glitter.  Fun!

I had to make a run up to my local sewing shop yesterday, and I couldn't leave without these two fabrics.  I only grabbed fat quarters.  I'm going to have to go back and get a yard each for my fabric stash.  I love them!

I also ran into the Goodwill real quick.  I haven't been doing much thrifting lately but I thought I'd run in and take a peek.  I found this cutie for $2.99!  It needs a good scrubbing, but I think it's darling.  It's about 2 feet high.  When I get it all cleaned up I'll show you where it ends up.

I've been thinking a lot recently about our house space, the energy of our "things"...I'm trying to let go of things that we don't need or really love.  I have been happily influenced  from Heather, and her home philosphies, and it's a process.  Surrounding yourself with a clean, simple home decorated with things that bring you joy is a challenge I'm enjoying.

All my kids are home from school for President's Day.  We'll see where the day takes us!
Happy Monday

I'm a Pillow Machine and the Winner!

I've been making lots and lots of pillows for the shop this week.  One of my best friends had a baby recently, and I wanted to make him a special gift.  I love how it turned out.
The letters are hand embroidered on, and the scripture is done with my free-motion foot.  I used a soft flannel on the back.  Maybe one day it will be his lovey... :)

This is a big one, it fits an 18 x 18 pillow form.  I love these three colors together.  Add some posie flowers, buttons, and loopy quilting...yum!

I've had this scripture in my head all week, and I finally did something with it.  The pillow is 12 x 12.  I love mixing vintage sheets with some modern fabric.

Another custom pillow for a sweet boy.  I am going to be offering these as custom orders in my etsy shop.  I think they make awesome gifts.

And now I bet you are wondering who won the give-away...drumroll please...

faith from within said...
So the other verse I left has been with me from the beginning of my faith walk. I was going back and forth tyring to decide if this next one I should leave for you and since you reposted the contest, I thought I would repost too....

This one hopped into my lap a few weeks ago, thank God for His promises and rewards!!

Thank you so much for all of your comments and the beautiful scriptures you left me with.  I wish everyone could win...!!
Have a very blessed weekend!

40 Bags,Dave,and Dreams

I tackled the closets this week.  I had started Sarah's 40 bags in 40 days, and this definitely added to the pile.  I didn't take any before photos, because when I get to cleaning and purging I'm not thinking of my camera!  Here's Ava's...we took the closet doors off in all the kids rooms and it has helped with the shortage of space.

We've had this system in her room now for a couple of years.  When she gets a little older I'd like to get her a beautiful matching bedroom set, but for now this works well instead of a dresser.

This is my closet.  We have teeny tiny his and hers closets, and they are small!  I organized all my clothes into dresses, pants, jeans, long sleeved shirts and tank tops.  One day I'd love to have all wooden hangers, but for now, these work!

Welcome to my mudroom...ha!  We don't have one (another wish list for our dream house), but this is where the kids put their shoes and backpacks after school.  We keep the toys they play with on a daily basis in here too.  I have to clean this closet out once a week.  It gets filled with sand and papers very quickly!

Here's the growing pile in a corner our garage.  I originally was going to donate it all, but now I think I'm going to suck it up and have a garage sale in the spring.  I actually really hate having garage sales, but I am gazelle intense again on the Dave Ramsey program...I've set a goal to finish up our debt by June, so every little bit counts.

I'm still dreaming and scheming of a larger house with a little land and studio space, but first I have to tackle the rest of our debt and take care of the home we are blessed to own now.

Do you have a lot of long term goals and dreams?  I think they keep us on our toes, keep us motivated and striving for accomplishments.  What do you dream of?
